Sonoma State Receives $7.9 M Grant To Expand Middle School STEM Program

Sonoma State University published a story on EdEon’s $7.9 million grant from the Department of Education to enhance its Learning by Making program. This significant funding will allow EdEon to expand its initiatives aimed at improving STEM education and career opportunities, particularly for underrepresented groups. The grant will support new partnerships, educational pathways, and resources designed to foster success in STEM fields, reinforcing SSU’s commitment to diversity and inclusion in science and technology.

This month we are excited to put the spotlight on the UC-registered program, Learning by Making (LbyM). Housed at Sonoma State University, the program offers an integrated ninth-grade C-STEM curriculum that teaches basic coding and electronics skills as part of implementing selected NGSS performance expectations in life, earth and physical science.
